Mohamed El Assy: 'We'll complete a crucial stage, but there are new challenges on the way'

The UD Almería Managing Director spoke about the UDA Academy from the El Toyo grounds where the Sports Complex will be built soon. He also highly praised the authorities for their support.

'We'll complete a crucial stage with the construction of the UDA Academy, but there are new challenges on the way,' stated UD Almería Managing Director Mohamed El Assy during the institutional event that has been held at El Toyo neighbourhood to show the land where the long-awaited UD Almería Sports Complex will be built soon.

Junta de Andalucía Minister of Finance counsellor Carolina España; Environment counsellor Ramón Fernández-Pacheco; Junta Almería delegate Aranzazu Martin; Mayoress of Almeria María Vázquez and last but not least, Councillor for Sports Juan José Segura, have been present at the event organised by the Junta de Andalucía Government and the Almeria City Hall.

The authorities have positively valued the land that will house the UDA Sports City and the Club has deservedly received praise for the ambitions project and its corporate social responsibility. In fact, Ramón Fernández-Pacheco recalled the strong support that Turki Alalshikh gave Almería at the time of the covid-19 pandemic. The Minister of Finance highlighted UD Almería's path to prosperity, the same thing that the Mayoress of Almería did underlining not only the extraordinary successes in LaLiga but also the Club's investments in the Andalusian city.

Mohamed El Assy, who thanked Almería sincerely for their high praise and the close collaboration with the Board and the City Council, recalled: 'On 25th September, 2019, a few days after acquisition of the club, Turki Alalshikh held a press conference to announce the exciting projects that he had planned for UD Almería: earning promotion to the Primera Division within a period of three years first, what has been achieved; the second was getting the management and remodelling of the Stadium, which is now a reality, and thirdly, building the UDA Sports Complex, which is what comes next, as well as the second phase of the Power Horse Stadium's remodelling in just over three years,' explained the UD Almería CEO.
