UD Almería pay tribute to midfielder Samú Costa and retired keeper and head coach José Ángel Iribar

UD Almeria Managing Director Mohamed El Assy presented the Portuguese with a shirt reading the 100th game. Fernando posed in black with Villarreal CF goalie Pepe Reina.

UD Almería paid tribute to Samú Costa on his centurion game against FC Barcelona last weekend. In the early stages of the match against Villarreal CF, UD Almeria Managing Director Mohamed El Assy presented the Aveiro-born midfielder, who took centre stage as he reached a milestone, with a framed jersey reading the 100th game played for UD Almeria. The 22-year-old Lusitanian received a standing ovation from the 13,311 spectators gathered at the Power Horse Stadium, who also chanted his name.

The Club also joined the Spanish football tribute to retired goalkeeper and head coach José Angel Iribar on his 80th birthday and therefore, skipper Fernando walked out onto the pitch dressed in black to pose first together with his UD Almería's starting XI team-mates and after with Villarreal CF goalie Pepe Reina.

Fernando could not play the game in black, nor could second keeper Diego Mariño, when he replaced the Murcia native between the sticks, since there are no UD Almeria goalkeeper kits in this colour.
