Rubi: ‘We have to perform at our best in this Saturday’s big game’

The Rojiblancos started to prepare the tactics to outplay the opponents' game plan at the Mestalla Stadium in Valencia. Kaiky was the only absentee

Once Monday's recovery session was accomplished and after Tuesday’s break, UD Almería began to work on the tactics ahead of the match against Valencia CF next Monday. The attacking transitions have been the main focus of Wednesday’s morning practice carried out on the Anexo ground. Kaiky has been the only absentee.

Head coach Rubi has insisted on different attacking and defensive drills with the firm objective of testing and working on counter-attacks, without a doubt the only aspect to improve judging the display put in the league fixture against Atlético de Madrid last Sunday. The Rojiblancos' backroom team have decided to deliver almost an hour of training, including 3v3, attacking and finishing drills as well as a small-sided game to round off the training session.

The Rojiblancos are going to step up preparations throughout this long week until the penultimate fixture of the first half the season at the Mestalla Stadium. All sessions will now be held behind closed doors.Oddly enough, UD Almería will be the last team to play on Matchday 18 and will be the first one to play on Matchday 19, so there is a lot of work ahead.
