Javi Muñoz spoke for the first time as a UD Almería player at his official presentation, discussing his role and what he hopes to bring to the team: 'I can adapt to any position in midfield and I will give my very best wherever the head coach needs me. I'm a versatile footballer and feel comfy in those areas; I like to link midfield with attack, bringing hard work, movement and dynamism to our play.'

The 31-year-old will be reunited with the head coach he worked under during his time at UD Las Palmas. 'I see this as an ambitious project and an exciting challenge ahead of us. Obviously, I spoke to García Pimienta because we worked together at UD Las Palmas and I've got to say that I really like his idea of football. I was happy playing under him, and I came with burning enthusiasm and the highest possible expectations of myself,' he explained.

Muñoz arrives determined to produce his very best form and expanded on that point: 'That UD Las Palmas had a very clear idea of how we wanted to play and we competed really well in the top-flight. It was a great year. We can bring that same idea from the head coach into this competition and we'll work hard to make it happen. As for me, I'll be demanding the very best from myself.'

The Madrid-born player was also asked by the media about his attacking contribution: 'You have to get into goalscoring positions, and I like contributing goals and assists to the teams I've played for.'

Finally, drawing on his experience, the midfielder highlighted one of the keys to enjoying a successful season: 'I've been following UD Almería closely and there are some great players here with a lot of talent. Together, we can adapt and give the team a recognisable and competitive style of play. Last season, they were just one goal away from promotion, and we must show that same hunger and ambition to earn promotion this season.'
