El Bilal Touré: 'We only think about competing well, not worrying about what team we have in front of us'

The 21-year-old UD Almería striker stated that he had never played as a striker when he was a child. The Malian player and his family believe that the best is yet to come.

UD Almería are going to take advantage of the latest good vibes after the resumption of the competition. Although it is true that they have not clinched a victory yet after the World Cup break, they could have achieved it considering their positive attitude and good displays on the pitch. El Bilal Touré chatted to the Club's official media and gave his thoughts about their last performances: 'We only think about competing well, not worrying about what team we have in front of us; we want to win in Valencia,' he exclaimed during the press conference held at the Power Horse Stadium press room.

Football is a universal language but, it has a different dialect in each country. The Spanish league, due to its maximum competiveness, entails a kind of natural selection with the footballers who have been able to adapt to it and those who have not. El Bilal Touré quickly became accustomed to it with four goals and an assist since his arrival in Almería: 'I didn't know how long it'd take me to adapt but I was well aware that I couldn't waste time and that I had to knuckle down so that everything turned out in the best way,' he admitted. 'My family is very happy for me but they also tell me that the best is yet to come.'

Equalising with a towering header against Atlético de Madrid was absolutely fantastic: 'All goals are beautiful and important, it doesn't matter if they're scored with a header or with the feet. Thanks to Robertone's well-crafted cross, I was able to score against Atleti. I'll never forget it! It's a goal that I'll obviously remember with my children because netting against this type of club has always been one of my dreams,' explained the Rojiblanco striker.

Regarding the last fixture's equaliser, the striker argued the following: 'Now at a defensive level, it's really difficult to score these types of goals with crosses from wide positions in the area; but if it comes your way, you just have to take advantage of it. Centre-forwards aren't like they used to be and now we have to be constantly on the move to also help defend.' The 21-year-old also referred to one of the latest transfer news, the arrival of Luís Suárez at UD Almería: 'Of course we can play together, and with Sousa too. That's a decision that the head coach has to make but we're compatible on the field.'

El Bilal Toure has also recalled his first steps in the world of football: 'When I was little I did nothing but play football. Oddly enough, I had never been a forward but rather played in the midfield or as a defender and even as a winger,' says a happy footballer who is proud of his African roots. On that subject, the Malian player opened up to the journalists about his childhood: 'Before becoming a professional footballer, my life was the same as that of any African child born to a very humble family. I feel very privileged. I've worked hard to make it and I've to say that I've also given up many things to get here.'
