All eyes on Cádiz CF!

UD Almería are fully focused on getting back to winning ways, looking inward and making the Andalusian derby a turning point following the close of the summer transfer window

UD Almería head coach Xavier García Pimienta and his players trained on Wednesday at the training base with their minds focused exclusively on delivering their very best in front of the home fans this Sunday. With the summer transfer window now closed, securing all 3 points against Cádiz CF is the Rojiblancos’ only obsession.

The Rojiblancos return to the UDA Stadium after 2 consecutive unsuccessful trips away from home, with the objective clear: to reproduce the performance and result from the opening Matchday. Victory in that game came through a style of play that had already been on display throughout pre-season and which, following the matches in Tenerife and Sabadell, the team are now determined to rediscover.

There is total belief within both the squad and the coaching staff. Tactical preparations, the team’s playing mechanisms and the match plan for the Andalusian derby are now taking centre stage, with no distractions of any kind.

Melamed has rejoined his team-mates and was able to train as normal, while Arribas, after beginning with activation work in the gym, continued his recovery on the Anexo pitch with the rehabilitation coach, completing tailored exercises.

The Indálicos are training again on Thursday, this time inside the UDA Stadium, the venue where, this Sunday at 9pm (Spanish Time), UD Almería will be aiming to return to winning ways.
