1-2: Another great second-half comeback and another significant victory

The UDA Academy products won again to make it 3 consecutive victories. The goals were scored by Marezi and Rojas. Gui debuted

UD Almeria ‘B’ turned another setback into a great comeback as they won again on a pitch where they had never done so, the San Benito Stadium, home to rivals Atlético Porcuna. The match began with the home team winning with a 36-minute goal from Manu Sarmiento, however, the UDA Academy Rojiblancos came back from behind in the second half with goals from Marezi in minute 68 and Rojas almost at the end of the game, within 87 minutes.

During the opening 45 minutes, the youthful Rojiblancos did not have a lot of touch in the box, it was hard for them to get into the match and the rivals played comfortably at home, a place where UD Almería ‘B’ had never clinched victory. The danger was created by opponent Manu Sarmiento who scored the opener on 36 minutes. The lads from Jaén kept themselves on the lead until half-time.

The second half was a different story. The guests began to make their presence known in the final third, they cranked up the pressure on their rivals, who let a one-goal lead slip. with 64 minutes on the clock, Marezi levelled it up ((1-1) after a superb assist from team-mate Marciano. This inspired the UDA Academy Rojiblancos who began to fashion more chances. Atlético Porcuna were reduced to 10 men, so in those last minutes possession and opportunities belonged to Óscar Fernández’s boys.

When the game was heading towards the tie, Rojas booted from the edge of the area and fired home the second goal for UD Almería ‘B’ to seal victory three minutes before full-time, the third on the bounce and the first ever in a venue where they had never achieved it.
