Spanish badminton champ Cristina Teruel takes honorary kick-off

The Almeria-born athlete, 17 years old, was the guest of honour in the match against Atletico de Madrid.

Spanish badminton champion Cristina Teruel took the honorary kick-off in the match played against Atlético de Madrid at the Power Horse Stadium this Sunday. The Almeria-born athlete, who is a loyal UD Almeria supporter, received a standing ovation from the attendees.

Cristina Teruel, who has a bright future ahead, is the Spanish badminton champion at the age of 17. She studies and trains in Huelva and follows Carolina Marín’s footsteps, who was born in that Andalusian city.

After taking the honorary kick-off, she made an encouraging gesture towards the dugout wishing the UD Almeria players and coaches the best of luck as she was heading down the tunnel.
