The Academy Rojiblancos secured their second consecutive win in another 'B' teams' derby against Recreativo Granada. Melilla suffered their first defeat of the season, leaving UD Almería 'B' just 2 points behind the league pacesetters
UD Almería 'B' extended their winning run in a 'B' teams' clash in Group IX of the Tercera RFEF. After beating Atlético Malagueño at the Anexo pitch last week, they followed up with an away victory over Recreativo Granada in a match corresponding to Matchday 7 played at the Granada Council Sports Complex. It was their second consecutive league win and their second successive victory away from home.
UD Almería 'B' also took advantage of the weekend’s results to close in on the top of the table. Pacesetters UD Melilla suffered their first defeat of the season away to Porcuna, in Jaén province, while Arenas de Armilla were held to a draw. As a result, UD Almería 'B' have moved into second place, just 2 points behind Melilla.
The youthful Indálicos made an early breakthrough against Recreativo Granada, taking the lead in the 6th minute when Pablo fired home from outside the box to make it 0-1. There was still a long way to go, but UD Almería 'B' managed the game intelligently, showing composure in the contest and remaining solid and effective defensively in the face of their opponents’ pressure. They ultimately took all 3 points, continuing to make progress in the competition despite being without several players and having to call upon the UD Almería U19s' 'A' squad.
