The midfielder has torn the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee and will have to undergo surgery
UD Almería 'B' midfielder Joan has suffered a serious injury to his right knee as he has torn his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and will require surgery. The player underwent several medical tests, which ultimately confirmed the full extent of the injury.
The midfielder sustained the injury during the Matchday 5 of league fixtures in a match played in Cantoria, which was heavily affected by torrential rain.
Joan’s absence is a significant setback for the young player’s football career, as well as for the team, given that he is a key member of the squad. The 22-year-old now faces a period on the sidelines following this serious injury.
The central midfielder, who was born in Sant Pere de Ribes, a town located in the province of Barcelona, has spent 8 seasons at the Club. He joined UD Almería at under-16 level and has progressed through the ranks to reach UD Almería 'B'.
He was part of the generation that finished as runners-up in the Copa del Rey U19 (Spanish Youth Cup) and subsequently secured promotion to the Segunda RFEF, Spain’s fourth-tier of senior football.
