Robertone: 'I could never have imagined that I'd become established at UD Almería so soon'

The Argentinian midfielder talks about his deal extension until 2028 and states 'I've improved my tactical and psychological understanding since I arrived here'

'I expected to succeed here at some point, but luckily we achieved promotion to the Primera Division last year and I was able to become established in the team,' explained UD Almería midfielder Lucas Robertone following his contract extension with UD Almería, running until 2028.

The Argentinian has admitted during the press conference 'I still have many things to learn, although I've improved physically, tactically and psychologically. The sky is the limit to what you can
win in this competition: 'I feel great but I can still perform at a better level. I know that I'm on the right track and that boosts my confidence to try to be at the highest level.'

The former CA Vélez Sarsfield player has looked ahead to Sunday's fixture with third-placed Real Sociedad: 'we know that they're tough rivals who are playing brilliantly, but we also have our weapons, which are even more powerful at home. It's definitely going to be a nice game for the fans.'

The 25-year-old has pointed out 'the key to winning is meeting our tactical objectives and sticking together for as long as possible.' Regarding the one-all draw against Cádiz CF, the Rojiblanco has argued 'we could've seen the game out but we failed to do it because we lacked efficiency. Anyway, it's a well-merited point. It was a shame though because we could've taken the first 3 points away from home.' The Concordia native has reiterated 'we deserved more in some games we played.'

On an individual level, the UD Almería footballer has spoken about teaming up in the midfield with Melero: 'It's easy to play with him because you know he's never going to lose the ball and that he'll always be well positioned both for me and for the squad. I'm so glad that he scored in Cádiz!'

Robertone is the player who has been fouled the most times 'I often get tackled, I don't know if a yellow card will be awarded or a red. I reckon that fouls are penalised correctly in Spain. I'm used to playing in Argentina where it's not like that.'

Finally, Lucas Robertone sent a message to the devoted UD Almería fans: 'The team is going to give it their all in each and every game to stay up in the first division. Last year, we earned promotion and hopefully, we'll seal safety in Primera Division soon.'
