1-0: Málaga CF U19's winning goal ends UD Almería U19 'A' longest unbeaten run of all time

The UDA Academy products were defeated narrowly after 23 impressive unbeaten matches. In addition, the teenage Rojiblancos lost the lead in Group IV due to goal difference.

UD Almería Under-19s 'A' were well aware of how tough the match was going to be after a packed schedule with cup and league action. They flew out to Las Palmas island to play the Spanish Cup quarter-final tie with some players not travelling because of the flu. The effort made by Alberto Lasarte's boys was enormous and as a result of that, the youth side head coach made several changes to the starting XI since many players had to stay in Almería. However, UD Almería Under-19s 'A' went all out for a win by engineering chances.

Despite the difficulties prior to the game, the Rojiblancos walked out onto the pitch with plenty of energy and forward drive and spurned a couple of chances. The Málagueños took the lead through Álex's goal in the 38th minute.

In the second half, Alberto Lasarte made some changes to the starting line-up, and several players entered the field to freshen things up and make it difficult for the hosts, who began to defend deeper. The teenage Indálicos tried until the full-time whistle, yet the Albicelestes managed to block all dangerous situations correctly and avoided conceding the equaliser.

After this narrow defeat, UD Almería U19's 'A' are no longer the table-toppers of Group IV. Runners up Real Betis U19 thrashed their opponents 6-0 to become the new leaders by goal difference, but the two Andalusian sides are still level on points.
