Winter training camp gets underway in Marbella

UD Almeria have completed their first evening practice on the Costa del Sol. Two friendlies against Austrian Bundesliga side Strum Graz and Scottish Premiership team Hearts of Midlothian FC will be played this weekend

Unión Deportiva Almería arrived this Monday at noon at the Westing La Quinta Hotel in Marbella. The Rojiblancos are taking part in a winter training camp that will last seven days, taking advantage of the LaLiga Santander break to accommodate the World Cup in Qatar. The Rojiblancos will be given the right programme with two friendlies this weekend to start with in order to stay in the right fitness levels, in the right shape and in the team style.

Rubi's men will be taking on Strum Graz on Saturday (KO 4pm CET) on one of the fields at the Marbella Football Center (La Quinta). They are the Austrian Bundesliga runners-up and a regular of European competitions such as the Europa League. On Sunday (KO 12 noon CET), UD Almeria will head to the Malaga-based town of Coín in order to play their second friendly against Hearts of Midlothian FC, a Scottish club in the UEFA Conference League.

Rubi’s team completed their first training session this Monday afternoon and after lunchtime everyone was ready to start putting in the work through tactical drills for an hour and a half except defender Babic, who is away on international duty at the World Cup. In total, 27 players are getting involved in this unusual training camp. This Tuesday, a two-a-day work-out session is in order.
