UD Almería impress with creative football on 'La Quinta' pitch

Head coach Rubi does not give up on insisting on tactical ideas. The players have recreated game situations this Wednesday morning

UD Almería have just crossed the equator of their mid-season training camp in Marbella and the players have spent most of the time in action on the pitch. This Wednesday morning, Rubi's squad has implemented a kind of intra-squad game with corrections made by the head coach as the main focus. There are not too many differences between the training sessions prior to a competition match and those delivered on the 'La Quinta' pitch in Marbella.

The only player who has been on the sidelines is Arnau Puigmal, with some slight discomfort that has kept him doing tailored work-outs. The central midfielder will join his team-mates in due course as the decision has been made for prevention rather than injury.

In the final part of this unique football practice, balance, coordination, speed, strength and power have been worked on, what reminds more of a usual period of preparation during the domestic season to enhance the players' fitness. This afternoon will be the only time off for the players given that there are two sessions planned for this Thursday as well as Friday ahead of the first two friendlies of this World Cup break.

Austrian side SK Sturm Graz will be Saturday's opposition (KO 4pm CET) and Scottish side Heart of Midlothian Football Club will be taking on the Rojiblancos on Sunday (KO 12 noon CET).
