Embarba: ‘I'm happy here, I feel important and I still have to show my best’

The UD Almeria No.’10' recognises that there is room for improvement as the Rojiblancos continue to be optimistic and improving

UD Almeria right-winger Adrián Embarba was a high-class signing last summer and he has never refused to live up to high expectations: ‘I still have to show my best, although it’ll be seen this season, I'm pretty sure. I always demand a lot from myself,’ states the player from Marbella when taking stock of his first half of the season with UD Almería. A player who has undoubtedly played a decisive role in each and every of the teams he has played for.

The 30-year-old footballer also commented ‘I feel identified with Rubi because he proposes attacking football, which fits perfectly with my way of playing. In short, it’s what we’re all looking for, to enjoy on the pitch in order to win.’ The UD Almería attacker has defined himself as follows: ‘I like to be creative, sly and daring on the pitch.’ Then he added: ‘I really like to tackle, dribble and I reckon I have a good shot … I believe that today that adventurous and attractive type of football is being left behind a little more due to the model that is being imposed today,’ he reflected.

The Madrid-born player has acknowledged that right now they have Cádiz CF in mind, pointing out: ‘We’re going to play that first game with great enthusiasm. We know that if we win there we’ll make our presence felt.’ The footballer also highlighted one of the qualities of his team: ‘Despite being a young squad, we’ve shown that we’ve taken decisive situations forward. We’re a team with enormous potential, in the end we’ve responded at key moments and we hope to continue doing the same.’
