Rubi: 'Our mentality is that this time we can clinch our first away victory no matter what'

The UD Almería head coach shares his pre-match thoughts: 'We have to keep on our toes' in order to make it happen and emerge victors in Girona.

As Matchday 22 beckons with a feisty opening encounter between Girona FC and UD Almería, head coach Rubi highlighted in the Power Horse press room that two teams of the same quality will go head-to-head in Catalonia at 9pm (Spain Time) this Friday: 'Both have similar team dynamics in terms of results this season. Both of us have bagged almost all the points on home turf and few away. They're an immensely strong team at the Montilivi Stadium. They look really comfortable at home where they've beaten top rivals. They always compete fiercely,' he explained.

It is time to end this winless run away from home. The Rojiblancos' gaffer has stressed that his team has set their minds on going all out for their first away victory of the season: 'We're going on this trip with the mentality that this time we have to clinch our first away win no matter what. We'll keep on our toes to make it happen this Friday.'

The Vilassar de Mar native boss has admitted that he is eager to improve some aspects of the game but without changing others: 'We have no fear after the last defeats. We don't know how to wait and see what happens without pressing. We're not going to change one hundred percent of what we usually do because we aren't at that point of completely turning our playing style around. I do want to improve 20% but keep the rest because it's also given us positive results.'

Joan Francesc Ferrer Sicilia 'Rubi' acknowledges 'these types of games mark the future of being in a fairly comfortable situation for the remainder of the league. We know that after two defeats, we must bounce back and obtain a good result.' At the same time, he stated 'I want to see a solid team that causes problems to the rivals because I believe that we're kind of easy to be attacked. If we improve at the back, the points will be ours again.'
