2-4: UD Almería Women pull off incredible comeback to beat CFF Albacete
Four minutes of total offensive capacity give the Rojiblancas all three points against direct rivals away from home
UD Almería Women pulled off an incredible comeback after beating direct rivals CFF Albacete in the race to stay up. The Rojiblancas were slow out of the traps since there were trailing 2-0 at half-time, however, the start of the second period left the Almerienses with total offensive capacity until a brace from Ángela Moreno and a goal from Fátima turned it around. In the final stretch, Jessi sealed the final 2-4 victory.
The first few minutes were not good at all for UD Almería Women. This appreciation does not refer to the terms of the game or positioning, but to the goals, since, after seven minutes, the hosts were up 1-0 in an unfortunate action in which Carmen Belmonte nearly saved it the opponent hit the counter. Next, the home team gals doubled their lead within 22 minutes before heading down the tunnel at the break (2-0).
That's when everything changed. Head coach Álvaro García Búrdalo made some substitutions for upon the next 45 minutes and introduced Ángela Moreno on the field, the homegrown player playing a leading role in the clash.
The first thing the sub did was to fire emphatically past the keeper giving hope to the Rojiblancas and pave the way to the remarkable comeback. Ángela Moreno's goal gave life to UD Almería Women and also gave way to four minutes in which Fátima level things up (2-2), in the play immediately after restarting the game and Ángela Moreno broke the deadlock (2-3).
The Indálicas continued to keep momentum and put into practice a game of possession and dominance with which they intended to take the points home. That's how it was, it was the 75th minute and the good vibes of the Rojiblancas were felt at 2-4, through Jessi with a great lob goal.
