UD Almería swap football training for paintballing trip to Tabernas desert
Coaching staff and players headed to Tabernas desert, which is the Hollywood landscape of Spain, to play a paintball game taking advantage of this long training week.
UD Almería took advantage of this long week to surprise the players with a paintballing trip to Tabernas desert, which is the Hollywood landscape of Spain that was declared Natural Park in 1989. Football and paintball have a lot in common since both require sportsmanship, teamwork and effective communication. This Friday, the players swapped their boots for war guns with the same objective: competing as a group. Both the coaching staff and the players were divided into groups with some specific tactics and objectives as they engaged in this fun, physical activity to improve team bonding.
While this is a long training week since UD Almeria will not be back to LaLiga Santander action until next Monday with a trip to Valencia, the players will have only four days after visiting the Valencianistas to prepare for Matchday 19 (Friday, 27 January) when RCD Espanyol are travelling to the South coast.
This Saturday and Sunday, the squad will participate in behind-closed-doors sessions to be conducted on the Anexo training ground before heading to Valencia next Monday with their sights set on achieving their first away victory of the 2022/23 season.
