UD Almería 'B' will go the extra mile to extend winning streak and cut the gap on top four

The UD Academy graduates have the great opportunity to remain in the play-offs zone. They are hosting Huétor Vega on Sunday (kick-off 12 noon).

UD Almería 'B' are eager to extend their winning streak and therefore, they will be looking to achieve their fourth win in a row against Huétor Vega. Óscar Fernández's boys have not been defeated nor have taken a share of the points so far in 2023, however, they are well aware what it means to come back from behind to claim a victory.

The UDA Academy graduates won their last two matches through impressive comebacks [UD Almería 'B' 2-1 CD 26 de Febrero; Atlético Porcuna 1-2 UD Almería 'B'] and scored the winning goal in the dying minutes of both encounters. The head coach has given his post-match assessments: 'I wish we could always get ahead in all games to avoid coming back from behind, but as long as we win... those comebacks are welcome.'

The youthful Indálicos sit fifth with 28 points and they must continue adding points in threes in order to remain in the play-offs zone. In addition, the Group IX top four in the Tercera Division RFEF face each other, so it will be a good chance to cut the gap on them.

Huétor Vega, a mid-table side (11th) on 21 points will be visiting the Anexo ground this Sunday; However, the Granada-based team has not won since 20 November, 2022 and since then, they have recorded five draws and experienced two losses, so they desperately need to bag all three points. The Rojiblancos' head coach has also spoken about this fact and assured the following: 'Each game is different, all the teams are in fierce competition on very few points. Huétor Vega are a well-coached outfit, so we have to go the extra mile to get the three points here at home.'

The game will be played on Sunday at the Anexo ground next to the Power Horse Stadium (KO 12 noon CET) and admission will be free until the venue is full to capacity. Óscar Fernández also encouraged everyone to attend the match: 'We're very grateful to our fans as they always give us their full backing. I invite them to become that 12th man again on Sunday. Hopefully, we can create a rocking atmosphere for the players.'
