UD Almería 'B' begin their campaign in Tercera RFEF Group I this Sunday with an away trip to newly-promoted CD Málaga Juniors.

The match kicks off at 7pm at the Federación Malagueña Sports Complex, with the youthful Rojiblancos set to face an additional challenge on an artificial surface.

It promises to be a demanding season for UD Almería 'B' in every respect. They will be one of the teams to beat in a highly competitive group that also features the 'B' teams of Granada CF and Málaga CF, as well as Melilla, who were relegated alongside Almería and Málaga last season.

Speaking to UDA Radio, the Club's official station, UD Almería 'B' head coach Pablo Nozal said his side are ready to get the season under way after a long and demanding pre-season.

'The team are fully focused and really looking forward to getting started after a very long and demanding pre-season. I'm happy with everything and now all that's left is for the competition to get underway,' he stated. 

Mr Nozal also gave a positive assessment of his squad, highlighting the importance of those who have remained from last season, the quality brought in by the new arrivals and the burning enthusiasm of the players stepping up from the youth ranks.

'The players who have stayed from last season are key to the team, while the new signings are going to bring a lot of quality. It's also great to see the great enthusiasm of the players coming up from the youth team,' he explained.

Looking ahead to Sunday's opening fixture, Mr Nozal outlined the style he wants his team to show both in and out of possession: 'We want to be an attacking side and dominate both with and without the ball.'

The UD Almería 'B' boss is expecting a difficult challenge against Málaga Juniors who have a clearly defined approach: 'We're coming up against a newly-promoted side with a very clear playing identity, who like to play a lot of football with the ball.'

For the gaffer, the key will be for his side to stay compact, win possession back and then make the most of their opportunities to attack quickly: 'We need to stay close together, know how to win the ball back from our opponents and then make sure we don't become too passive with it. We must play with purpose and play vertical football.'
