Rubi: 'Together the squad with the fans, we’re not going to mess this up before the end'

The UD Almería gaffer warns of the difficulty of Saturday's match against Villarreal CF due to the adversaries' potential, but also stresses that his side will face it with the utmost confidence.

UD Almería head coach Rubi has held a pre-Villarreal presser to look ahead to Saturday's match against Villarreal CF and highlighted the enormous importance of scoring: 'A new match comes against another powerful team in Spanish football. From there, as I see it, it's more important getting 3 more points to make it 28 than getting two consecutive victories. Then, we'll try to jump positions in the table to be able to move away a bit from the relegation zone.' He also stressed: 'Together the squad with the fans, we’re not going to mess this up before the end.'

The UD Almería gaffer warned of the difficulties of the imminent clash against the Submarino Amarillo team and pointed out on that subject: 'It won't be easy at all due to the enormous potential of the adversaries. They're a great squad! We're going to face it with the utmost confidence.'

'I expect a UD Almería team who knows how to combine; we need to adapt and handle the different situations of the game with our personality,' commented the Rojiblancos 'mister' before clarifing 'there will be stages in which we'll have the ball and there will be others in which Villarreal CF will have it due to the way they play and the technical quality of their players. They're going to make us run and put in the graft. If we team up like we did the other day and the eleven of us work, it'll help us to try take advantage of our moments with the ball.'

The Vilassar de Mar native describes the opponents as 'a dominating and daring team. They're pacy players who are good at handling the ball.' He has also reviewed the match of the Amarillo team against Getafe CF from the previous league Matchday: 'I really liked Villarreal CF, the personality with which they played when they were trailing and the ability that they had to turn the game around against defensively strong rivals.'
