Babić: 'If we play as we know, we can beat Sevilla FC'

The 26-year-old UD Almería centre-back has assured that Sunday's clash at the Sánchez-Pizjuán 'is going to be really tough,' although he added: 'We're going to give it our all to achieve victory.'

The Serbian defender from UD Almería, Srđan Babić, has caught up with the Club's official media in an interview to look ahead to the next league appointment that will see the Rojiblancos taking on Sevilla FC at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium this Sunday (kick-off 4:15pm CET).

How do you think Sevilla FC can be beaten?

I think we've got everything ready for this game. We beat them in the first half of the season...why not do it again? They've got the same points (25) as us. We know it's going to be a really tough game, but we're going to give it our all to win.

The rivals will go into the match without some key players...

We can't think much about their absentee list. We must focus on our game and give everything. It'll depend a lot on them too, but if we play as we know, we can win.

They're playing the Europa League before Sunday's league fixture. Will that affect their game?

They have three days to rest. I don't know if it could be a negative aspect that could harm them, but we only have to think about us.

Unpredictable season for the Sevillian team, right?

This year, they began to compete in the Champions League group stage, they might have expected better results before finding themselves fighting not to be relegated. It won't be an easy match because we're competing for the same goal. There are also many teams in the same situation. Just one game won't change anything, but we have to give everything to try to win.

Great rivalry in the bottom half of the LaLiga Santander table...

Staying up in the league will be possible with a very high score over 40 points. We have to go all out to reach that number as soon as possible and win away from home too.

You are visiting Sevilla FC this Sunday and will be hosting Cádiz CF next weekend. Do you consider these games to be decisive in the race for safety?

The matches against Sevilla FC and Cádiz CF are vital, but there will be many more games ahead.

You have been named in the provisional Serbia squad again. How do you feel about it?

I'd like to talk once it's over, but it's an honour to represent my country, first in the World Cup and now to qualify for the European competition.

What is your opinion about UD Almería U19 'A' passage to the Spanish Cup U19 final?

First of all, I'd like to congratulate the players and coaching staff who have reached the final. Hopefully they'll win. They have to walk out onto the pitch to enjoy it because it'll be an unforgettable experience.
