1-2: Third consecutive win extends UD Almería's unbeaten streak to 6 games

The Rojiblancos achieved another vital victory in a very hard-fought match in which Arribas and Luis Suárez earned their names onto the scoresheet

UD Almería are on fire as they achieved their third consecutive victory this season, extending their unbeaten streak to six games and reaching the VIP zone in the table. They had to put in the hard graft to win though, because although they outclassed their rivals, they did not make it easy for them; Quite the opposite, although it is true that when it was most complicated it was more due to their own inaccuracies that they knew how to correct. Arribas and Luis Suárez were the authors of the goals.

UD Almería flew out of the traps against  the Efesé team, commanding, taking the initiative and creating clear scoring chances. In fact, Arnau Puigmal, who was one of the new additions to the starting XI along with Marc Pubill and Lopy, squandered big chances in the 9th and 19th minutes. In the first of them, he hit the crossbar, and in the second with the goalkeeper in a 1v1 duel. However, the Rojiblancos had everything under control because the ball was theirs and the rivals were barely getting close to Fernando's domain.

After 23 minutes, not surprisingly the Indálicos put themselves in front (0-1). Centelles crossed in and Arribas slotted home in style. It gave the impression that the match was getting on track based on how things were panning out, but in 8 minutes everything changed and FC Cartagena, in the only two good plays they engineered in the 34th and 42nd minutes, came back from behind, although their second goal was disallowed due to previous offsides. Be that as it may, it was a serious warning because the team was neither reliable nor decisive in defence. With a one-all tie, the break was reached.

The Rojiblancos tried to win the game in the second half, but they couldn't completely do it because although they dominated, they were imprecise and couldn't finish the plays, which gave the hosts hope. Shortly before the 60th minute, Rubi made changes to the squad and brought in Pozo and Nico Melamed to replace Arnau Puigmal and Leo Baptistao, respectively. In this way, the gaffer changed the wings.

In the 64th minute, Luis Suárez made his presence felt to break the deadlock (1-2) in a quick play that ended with a thumping shot that went into the back of the net. UD Almería were ahead again and now they did not give up, like in the first half.

Rubi's side knew how to handle the situation. In the 72nd minute Arribas, after Pozo's delivery, almost made it 1-3, which would have been the final result. Therefore, in the last minute, the Rojiblancos had to suffer, but no one said it was going to be easy. Third consecutive victory for UD Almería and 6 games undefeated.
