Spanish Cup second-round draw this Wednesday
UD Almería are to find out on Wednesday their next Cup rivals, who will be a team from the third-tier Primera RFEF or from LaLiga Hypermotion
Next week will be intense for the Rojiblancos because among the league fixtures to be played, they will also meet their Spanish Cup second-round rivals, which will be played again, in a single-legged tie between the 3rd and 5th of December.
The draw takes place at 1pm on Wednesday, 27 November at the headquarters of the Royal Spanish Football Federation. UD Almería, who in the first round knocked fourth-tier Segunda RFEF side UD San Sebastián de los Reyes out, will now have to take on opponents from third-tier Primera RFEF or even from LaLiga Hypermotion.
A total of 56 teams are participating in the Cup tournament and with two matches left to be played on Tuesday, which were postponed by the warning issued by the AEMET (Spain's Met Office), there are 14 Segunda RFEF teams in contention, and the same number from the top-tier LaLiga EA Sports.
UD Almería's opponents will be among the 11 Primera RFEF clubs, which are Andorra, Nàstic, SD Ponferradina, Cultural, Unionistas, Ourense, Barakaldo, Zamora and Marbella, Yeclano and Ceuta, or among those of the same division, such as Cádiz CF, Granada CF, Racing de Santander, Sporting de Gijón, Racing de Ferrol, Elche, Burgos CF, CD Tenerife, FC Cartagena, Real Zaragoza, CD Eldense, SD Huesca, Castellón and Deportivo de la Coruña.
In the first case, the Rojiblancos will play the tie at home, while if it were against rivals from LaLiga Hypermotion, the order of the balls coming out from the pot will determine whether the match is played away or at the UD Almería Stadium.
