3-2: Baptistão sparks late euphoria in 5-goal thriller

Stoppage-time winner seals 7th straight home victory against direct rivals Málaga CF as Embarba nets a superb brace

UD Almería delivered another unforgettable night at the UDA Stadium, edging past Málaga CF 3–2 thanks to a dramatic stoppage-time winner from Léo Baptistão. The victory marks a 7th consecutive home win, equaling the Club’s best-ever run.

As the clock struck the 90th minute, time seemed to stand still. A cross from Morcillo hung in the air and Baptistão rose to meet it, powering a magnificent header into the net. The UD Almería Stadium erupted as the Brazilian sealed a remarkable comeback victory in the dying moments.

It was a match full of intensity and swings in momentum. Embarba led the charge with a brilliant brace, opening the scoring early in the second half after a superb assist from Miguel de la Fuente. Just minutes later, Embarba struck again to double the advantage and seemingly bring calm to a chaotic encounter.

However, Málaga CF refused to back down. Adrián Niño pulled one back with a powerful strike from long range and in the 86th minute, Haitam Abaida levelled the score with a precise finish, silencing the home crowd.

But Rubi’s side showed resilience and belief. Rather than collapse after conceding, UD Almería pushed forward with determination. In stoppage-time, substitutes Morcillo and Baptistão combined to produce a moment of pure footballing drama, securing a vital 3 points against direct rivals in the tight promotion race.

Earlier in the match, chances had been scarce despite high tension, with both Andalusian outfits struggling to break the deadlock in a fiercely contested first half played in front of over 16,200 spectators.

The second half, however, exploded into life, delivering goals, chances and relentless action. In the end, it was UD Almería’s faith and fighting spirit that made the difference, keeping alive their push for promotion.

Final score: UD Almería 3–2 Málaga CF
