0-1: UD Almería U19 'A' reach Spanish Cup U19 semis!

Late heartbreak on the island. The unstoppable UDA Academy victors beat UD Las Palmas U19 with a last-grasp winning goal from Juanjo.

Never really over until that final whistle. Nothing beats the buzz of a last-minute winner. Another night that will live in the UDA Academy history books since the under-19s 'A' have qualified for the Spanish Cup U19 semi-finals after beating UD Las Palmas U19. With 86 minutes on the clock, match-winner Juanjo scored a last-grasp goal for Alberto Lasarte's youth side that flew out to the island without preparing themselves well enough for the quarter-final tie given the fact that some squad members have had a temperature.

The encounter was dominated by UD Las Palmas U19s who produced more efforts with ball possession. With 40 minutes on the clock, the hosts' opener was scored by Antonio, but it was disallowed for offside. Then, the teenage Rojiblancos managed to create some danger but not as much as the Canarians, who sent two balls over the crossbar and hit the woodwork too.

Late heartbreak at the Anexo Gran Canaria Stadium. Juanjo's late strike won it for UD Almería U19s 'A' as they qualified for the Copa del Rey Juvenil semi-finals.

Just before full-time, goalie Bruno Iribarne, who has just received a Spain U19 call-up, pulled off a superb save in the last minute of the match to avoid extra-time and seal passage to the semis. The islanders went the extra mile to equalise and take the game into extra-time but it was not meant to be. UD Almería Under-19s 'A' will play the 'Copa del Rey Juvenil' semi-finals for the first time ever.
