Spanish Cup second-round: UD Almería set to face CD Eldense on 3 December

Hectic week ahead for the Rojiblancos as they take on CD Eldense in Elda, Alicante

UD Almería will face CD Eldense in the second round of the Copa del Rey on Wednesday, 3 December, at 8pm (CET). The single-legged tie will take place at the Pepico Amat Stadium in Elda, a town in Alicante. The fixture forms part of a packed schedule for the Rojiblancos, who will have already played SD Huesca at home on Saturday, 29 November (6:30pm CET), before travelling to Andorra on Saturday, 6 December at 2pm (CET).

CD Eldense, who competed against UD Almería in the second division last season, are currently sitting 8th in Group II of the third-tier Primera RFEF, just two points behind the play-off spots. With a record of 3 wins, 6 draws, and 2 losses, Eldense have proven difficult to beat at home, remaining undefeated in their own stadium with 3 wins and 2 draws. This makes the encounter a challenging one for the Andalusians.

The Alicante-based club is coached by Claudio Barragán, and boasts a few familiar faces, including Fidel Chaves and Quintanilla, who is currently on loan from UD Almería.

In the tournament's first round, UD Almería secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over CF Lorca Deportiva at the Artés Carrasco stadium in Murcia, while CD Eldense progressed with a 3-1 win over Real Jaén, a fourth-tier side.

The Cup date promises to be an intriguing test for both sides as they aim to secure a place in the competition's next stage.
