‘We made quite an impression on everyone’

José María Gutiérrez was very satisfied with having earned a huge win victory against Lugo in the first match of 2020. Thanks to his team’s performance, the players’ attitude and having kept a clean sheet, the manager was floating on air. 

The rojiblanco manager mentioned that ‘Every match is crucial, but this one was of great significance because we ended up 2019 with a crushing defeat and left with a bittersweet taste. We wanted to start 2020 on a good note. We have made it, but there are still 20 more matchweeks ahead and we have to keep on working’. 

José María Gutiérrez highlighted the players’ attitude. In this regard, the manager declared that ‘it is grateful to his players for their intensity from beginning to end despite being on the lead by far. It was also important to keep a clean sheet, which makes me happier than scoring 4 goals. On the whole, I value the squad’s intensity, ambition and of course, the 4 goals’.
