The new and remarkable Stadium lighting becomes a reality on 16th January

The latest LED projectors are being installed in the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium. The investment of the club is around one million euros.

The new and remarkable Juegos Meditarraneos Stadium lighting becomes a reality on Thursday, 16th January, when UD Almeria play against Real Oviedo. The match corresponds to the 23rd matchday of the SmartBank League. The match will be played at 9 p.m. therefore this will be the best opportunity to show off capabilities of new stadium lights.

In fact, the sports venue will have around 300 brand-new cutting-edge LED projectors on the four corner turret structures and on the stadium's roof, which doubles size of the previous lighting installation. The investment is nearly one million euros and it will be fully paid by UD Almeria.

As a result, the club will not only comply with the new LaLiga broadcasting regulations but also the rules that govern UEFA. From now on, fixtures can be selected to broadcast in 4K. The lighting level will be just over 3,000 lux anywhere on the pitch. In addition, this new system, which does not necessarily cause light sensitivity in the eyes, is a spectacular light show as much as a display of sporting talent.

Andled Energy, a Spanish engineering specialist in sports lighting, has been responsible for the development of the project and the manufacture of the spotlights, while Montajes Mecaval, which is a company based in Almeria, are carrying out the installation of the projectors. In spite of the difficulties at work; its technicians are working quickly and efficiently at a height of about 40 metres, approximately. The turrets are almost complete with the new LED lights.
