Rubi: ‘This is a tough-looking visit; UD Ibiza is an important team in this league’
The head coach praises Sunday’s rivals and stresses ‘we’ll have to be fully focused to be able to defeat them.’
‘This is a tough-looking visit because UD Ibiza is an important team in this league,’ said UD Almeria head coach Rubi at the pre-Ibiza presser before flying out to the island and taking on the next adversaries at the Can Misses Stadium.
The UD Almeria head coach praised the next opponents ‘they’ve only lost three games in the championship and together with us, they’re the team that have collected the most points over the last five Matchdays; so we both will get into the game on the back of a positive run of results.’
Rubi then added ‘UD Ibiza do things well, they’re very well organised and they know what they’re playing at. After 3 consecutive defeats, they haven’t lost their last 5 games. Their efforts are certainly deserving of praise because they’ve been able to react quickly and with authority, which says a lot about their head coach. Congratulations to them!’
Rubi assures that UD Almería will encounter many difficulties in Ibiza since in addition to what has been said above, ‘they work all aspects of the game, always organised and trying to play vertical football. They’re very complete.. a great team. They show total confidence high up the pitch and facing the leaders is an extra motivation.’
The Catalan coach stressed ‘we’re going to have to play with all these aspects in mind, becoming the best version of ourselves and being fully focused to be able to defeat them.’
The Rojiblancos can break a record of consecutive victories if they happen to win, although Rubi pointed out ‘now our main focus is Ibiza.’
With regard to Sadiq’s absence, Rubi commented ‘the position of forward is well covered; even Almeria ‘B’ Raúl Caballero is making great progress and is training really well.’
