Óscar Fernández: ‘I cherish the hope of the UD Almería fans’

The UD Almeria ‘B’ gaffer defines Utebo FC as a team that ‘does many things well’ so the ‘B’ team boys will have to put in a commanding display

The UD Almeria first team are just one victory away from promotion and UD Almería ‘B’ are following suit. UDA Academy ‘B’ team head coach Óscar Fernández explained: ‘I reckon we all have it clear. Hopefully, there will be a team in the Segunda Division RFEF by 9pm and another one in the top flight by midnight. I think that’s the dream of all the Almerienses. These were the words of the head coach at the same time that he defined this hypothesis as a ‘wonderful’ situation.

Beyond all that, the Club’s second team is trying to train with calmness this week. The head coach pointed out in this regard: ‘We’re trying to continue promoting the things that we do well and brush up some details that we’ve got to improve.’

The youthful Indalicos will take on Utebo FC, a side that for Óscar Fernández ‘deserves all respect’ after finishing runners-up in their group, having even been on the verge of automatic promotion. ‘Anything can happen in 90 minutes. They’re a team that does many things well and is going to make it very difficult for us,’ added the youngsters’ head coach.

Óscar Fernández also referred to the fact that his players are very eager to play in a final. Not only the Academy footballers are pumped for the next game as all the people from Almeria city are buzzing towards Saturday, a day when the Club’s two squads will be fighting to their strengths for their goals, and thus, the ‘B’ team gaffer concluded: ‘I cherish the hope of the UD Almería fans, but we need to fight for hope. We’re going to continue working as we’ve been doing until now and we’ll go all out on Saturday.’
