‘We managed to end our losing streak before and now it is time to believe in ourselves again’
Nikola Maras believes that Almeria are ‘alive and kicking’ before meeting Cádiz and says that ‘in football everything changes quickly.’
It was Nikola Maras turn to give a press conference before UD Almeria face a ‘crunch game’ at Ramón de Carranza. Given the importance of the clash, the centre-back highlighted: ‘It is about time to break our hoodoo. If we obtain a good result against them, I think we will forget everything we have been going through in the last month and start again with a clean slate.’
The defender showed total confidence in the squad and mentioned that José María Gutiérrez’s men are ‘alive and kicking’ to answer questions related to recent comments on Almeria not being picked at the betting pools as the favourite team to gain automatic promotion. The Serbian player recalled that ‘we were on a losing streak before and all of a sudden we won many consecutive games.’ In this regard, he stressed: ‘In football everything changes quickly. We have got enough quality to return to winning ways. We feel strong and there are many games to be played ahead of us.’
As Iván Martos did on the previous matchday, Nikola Maras thanked their fans for the great response to the ticket sales sent by Cádiz CF. That means that red and white colours will stand out in the visiting team sector at the Ramón de Carranza stadium. He said: ‘I am sure they will cheer on us and we will get a good result together.’
