UD Almería switch attention to Cup action as first-round tie against CD Arenteiro beckons
The Rojiblancos take their ease this Thursday before training behind closed doors on Friday and Saturday at the training base
LaLiga Santander is now ready to shut down for a few weeks whilst the 2022 FIFA World Cup takes place in Qatar, but UD Almeria will continue competing in the Spanish Cup tournament since they will be visiting CD Arenteiro on Sunday (KO 9pm CET) for the first-round tier of the Cup tournament that will be played in the Galician town of Carballino, Ourense.
The squad will take their ease this Thursday, while on Friday and Saturday, they will be training behind closed doors on the Anexo training pitch again so as to prepare for the game in Galicia. Rubi has already described the Cup tie as very complicated; the UD Almeria head coach commented during the post-Getafe press conference that he had already seen CD Arenteiro playing and that is why he praises them.
On Sunday, the same day as the Copa del Rey match to be played in Carballino, UD Almería will catch a charter flight to Vigo. Once this single-legged game is over, the Rojiblancos will go on holiday for about 10 days.
