Xavier García Pimienta has no injured players returning to the squad and once again includes UD Almería 'B' players Popović and Ayouba Koné
UD Almería will be without any of their injured players for Tuesday's Spanish Cup first-round match against UD Castellonense, which kicks off at 7:45pm at the Eliseo Pla Ramírez stadium located in Villanueva de Castellón, Valencia. The fixture will be played as a single-leg tie.
Given the circumstances, head coach Xavier García Pimienta has called up the same 23 players who were included in the squad for Saturday's league match against Real Oviedo. The list includes UD Almería 'B' centre-backs Popovic and Ayouba Koné. Mikel Vesga did take part in Monday's training session at the Anexo training ground, but the decision was made to monitor his progress rather than rush his return. Alongside the Navarra-born midfielder, Chirino, Rodrigo Ely and Nico Melamed are also unavailable.
Having already trained at the Stadium on Sunday, the squad completed a preparatory session at the Anexo base on Monday ahead of Tuesday's match. UD Castellonense have made an impressive start to life in Segunda RFEF and are expected to provide a stern test for UD Almería.
The UD Almería travelling squad travelled by road to the town of Alzira, where they will stay until it is time to head to Villanueva de Castellón for the Copa del Rey tie.
The players called up by Xavier García Pimienta are as follows:
Goalkeepers: Andrés Fernández (1), Fernando (13) and Yaakobishvili (31).
Defenders: Marcos Luna (2), Álex Muñoz (3), Pulido (5), Leonardo Lelo (15), Bonini (18), Chumi (21), Ayouba Koné (28) and Popovic (32).
Midfielders: Morcillo (7), Gui Guedes (8), Sergio Arribas (11), Javi Muñoz (14), Cipenga (17), Álex Sola (20), Embarba (23), Dzodic (29) and Quim Junyent (33).
Forwards: Thalys (9), Léo Baptistão (12) and Miguel de la Fuente (24).
