‘This team have the major objective of playing the next phase and I believe we are highly capable’

Manuel Jesús Cerpa González has not hesitated to point out that Almería B ‘have the objective of playing the next phase’. As he sees it, the youngsters are more than capable of doing so. ‘The team I see is highly competitive. There are good players and we’re going to be in the limelight within the division’, explained the midfielder in a conversation held with the club's official media.

The native of Huelva player considers himself as ‘a very hard-working footballer, who knows how to keep his position to perfection’ and is characterised by being good at short passing. That is why he highlighted: ‘I will sacrifice for the team so that we can obtain good results. I will do my very best.’

Cerpa, who knows other sides in Tercera Division -fourth-tier of Spanish football-, is fully aware that playing in this league level ‘you have to compete fiercely’, given that ‘every game is very complicated.’ Nonetheless, he stood by his previous statement on the UD Almería Academy’s major goal: ‘This B team have to be at the top of the standings.’

In the same way, the central midfielder gave some tips of advice so that young footballers like those who wear the red and white jersey compete with members of other more experienced dressing rooms: ‘We have to face that with enthusiasm and hard work. There are many quality players in the squad and with that quality and being full of hope, we are very capable of taking any team on.’
