‘The only way to come out of a bad run is pulling ourselves together’…these were statements made by José María Gutiérrez in the post-match press conference after taking on Racing Santander. The UD Almeria’s head coach believes that his young football side, are playing under pressure and bearing in mind that their goal remains the same.
The Almeria’s head coach said that ‘we have been blocked since the 1st minute and it was hard for us taking the lead when the results were not positive. We need to let it go and not feeling so much pressure to win and stop feeling stressed out. We are a young team and we have to keep on working hard.’
According to José María Gutiérrez ‘you should play your best to win when you are playing at home. This situation may cause anxiety both on and off the pitch, but you will learn from all this. You must take it into account for future meetings.’ He recognised that after the first goal in the 14th minute, everything started to go downhill.
