Spain U21 vs Switzerland U21 international friendly to be presented in Almería

Under-21s national coach Santi Denia attends the presentation that takes place at the local office of the Andalusian Government in Almería next Monday, 13th March.

Next Monday, 13 March, UD Almería will be hosting the presentation of the international friendly that Spain U21 will be playing against Switzerland U21 on Friday, 24 March. It is a match that means the return of the under-21s national team to Almería city 7 years later, and that will be possible thanks to to the collaboration between the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), the Andalusian Football Federation (RFAF) along with the Junta de Andalucía, the Almería Provincial Council, the Almería City Council and UD Almería.

The presentation ceremony will be held next Monday from 12.30pm (Spanish Time) at the local office of the Andalusian Government in Almería which is located at Paseo de Almería, 68. The representatives of different institutions will be present as well as U21 national coach Santi Denia.

The international friendly will be played on Friday, 24 March (kick-off 9pm Spanish Time). The Castilla La Mancha native coach, who takes over from current senior national team coach, will debut in this match at the helm of the Spain U21 squad. The exciting appointment with Switzerland U21 will serve as preparation for the UEFA Euro U21 which will be held in Georgia and Romania from 21 June to 8 July.

This is the second time that La Rojita squad plays in this stadium and also the fourth time that the youth national team visits Almeria city. This return down south is possible thanks to the agreement reached between the RFEF and the Junta de Andalucía with an eye to bring national football closer to the eight provinces of Andalucía.

The last time La Rojita U21 played at the formerly-named Juegos Mediterráneos Stadium was November 2015, when more than 7,000 football enthusiasts greatly enjoyed that game against Georgia U21.
