Sadiq Umar, UD Almería striker, has already scored 11 goals in official competition this season so far, since apart from the 9 goals netted in LaLiga SmartBank, becoming one of the top scorers, he added a brace against Deportivo Alavés in the Copa del Rey third-round tie to his tally.
The 23-year-old Nigerian player had not participated in the two previous qualifying rounds of the Spanish Cup tournament since ties against Hospitalet de Llobregat and Soria took place in mid-week and between LaLiga fixtures, so that José Gomes decided to give him rest. The prolific goalscorer made his Copa del Rey debut against Alavés and did so by demonstrating his huge potential with a brace, although he had more opportunities to take his goals tally further, besides, scoring a new hat-trick.
