Rubi: ‘It was a game we knew we’d have to strive hard’

The head coach praises the ability of his players to grow into the game as the minutes went by to win all three points vs CD Tenerife

Things went as planned for UD Almería to keep all three points against CD Tenerife. This was reflected by UD Almeria head coach Rubi at the post-game presser. He acknowledged that they had ‘analysed the rivals’ and that this study was key in the development of the game and thus, the coach stated: ‘We knew it was a game that we could not win at the beginning. It was a game we knew we’d have to strive hard.’

This ability of the players to have endless patient was, precisely, praised by the gaffer in front of the media. Likewise, the second period was a highlight in the encounter for Rubi, which led him to emphasise: ‘we’ve been great in the second half. We’ve got pacey players and that's key to win the game.’

Rubi also spoke about the results that UD Almería currently has achieve them and that have allowed them to clinch 5 victories-3 of them at home - and that, in his opinion, are a confirmation that the Rojiblancos have ‘started LaLiga SmartBank on the right foot’. In this regard, he concluded: ‘I praise my team for this good start because it’s never easy to begin so well.’
