Rubi: 'Football is all about hitting the target; this is the way to follow'

The UD Almería gaffer showed his gratitude to the travelling fans who went to Seville and asked them for their support to beat Cádiz CF on Saturday and get out of the relegation zone.

'Football is all about hitting the target, and we missed it today, but this is the way to follow,' explained UD Almería head coach Rubi when sharing his thoughts after the away match played in Seville. He also said: 'In the first half, the rivals forced us to defend deeper, although without creating clear chances; then, in the second period, I reckon we've played brilliantly.'

UD Almería fashioned clear chances to have scored and grabbed the leveller. For this reason, Rubi stressed: 'we lacked a little bit of fortune, which also helps sometimes because Luis Suárez faced the opponent goalkeeper and Centelles' shot has been taken out of the goal line… It happened to us against Villarreal CF, in Cádiz too…'

The Vilassar de Mar native made it clear 'if we play as we've done it today in the second half, we'll achieve our goal. We've faced adversaries who compete in Europe and are a Champions League team.'

Rubi then added:' We don't look at the table, but we look at the points; in other seasons, we would not be relegated-threatened.'

Before the end of his post-match press conference, Rubi indicated: 'We're ready for any battle, as we've demonstrated.' He also told the travelling fans that 'we're proud of them, they've helped us a lot and I'm sure that with the union of everyone on Saturday we'll be able to beat Cádiz CF and get out the drop zone
