Mayoress of Almería María del Mar Vázquez has given a well-earned reception for UD Almería Under-19s 'A' as the youngsters finished runners-up to Real Madrid CF U19s in Spanish Cup U19 final (2-1): 'We're really proud of you; you've made history in the Club, who doesn't stop giving us immense satisfaction. You're a role model for the youth of today. I'm a big fan of yours,' said the Mayoress to the players and backroom team.
Under-19s 'A' head coach Alberto Lasarte thanked warmly for this recognition and emphasised: 'We all feel a great sense of pride in defending the UD Almería crest across Spain.' The history-makers' gaffer, who really appreciates the backing from the fans and citizens in general, called on his players to keep fighting to 'return here in two months. That will be a good sign,' referring to the chances of becoming league champions.
Team's skipper Marcos Peña expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the tribute and wish his team-mate Paco Sanz, who has undergone surgery on his meniscus, a speedy recovery. The Rojiblanco player gave a UD Almería jersey to the Mayoress with her name printed on it.
The Spanish Cup U19 runners-up attended the event with the medals and the trophy won a few weeks ago in the Spanish tournament.
