Juan Villar: ‘I feel very well and I really want to help the team’

The forward played his first minutes in LaLiga SmartBank this season against SD Eibar, after the injury he suffered in the pre-season

‘Although the important thing is the team and getting good results, personally I’m very happy to play again and I’m confident that I’ll get more minutes little by little,’ stated UD Almeria forward Juan Villar, who played his first minutes taking on SD Eibar in LaLiga SmartBank this season after the injury he suffered in the summer pre-season. Despite the Huelva-born player was named in the squad list against Girona FC and UD Las Palmas, it was at the Ipurúa Stadium where he got his first minutes.

‘The days, the weeks… have become very long during these past months. I’ve been on a rocky road,’ said Juan Villar and then added ‘but now it’s over so I’m very excited to be able to contribute and help the team.’

The forward pointed out ‘I feel very well,’ although he acknowledged ‘it was difficult for me to join the team dynamics when I began to train with the rest of my team-mates, however I’ve been comfortable for two weeks and with very good vibes.’

The three UD Almeria forwards Juan Villar, Sadiq and Dyego Sousa coincided on the SD Eibar’s field of play last Friday. When asked if they were compatible, he replied ‘We’re different players, but I think we can play all three.’

The Rojiblanco footballer commented ‘there’re two close matches coming now and we all have to be prepared and focused to contribute to the team when the head coach deems it appropriate.’

Juan Villar considers that ‘they should feel calm as Almería are at the top in the automatic promotion zone. We lost to SD Eibar, but we could’ve scored. We have to continue on the right path, which is the one that has brought us to where we’re today in the standings.’
