Iván Martos loaned out to FC Cartagena until the end of season

After the injury he picked up last season in Zaragoza, the left-back rejoined his UD Almería team-mates back in October 2022.

UD Almería left-back and central defender Iván Martos will play on loan for second-tier side FC Cartagena until the end of the season following the agreement reached by both clubs and the footballer.

Martos, who suffered a serious injury last campaign in the match played against Real Zaragoza at La Romareda Stadium, has been training along with his UD Almería team-mates since October 2022. Now, the versatile player has the opportunity to play again for his new Murcian-based team. The Manresa native passed his medical this Thursday in order to be able to take part in FC Cartagena training.

Iván Martos celebrates 10 years as a Rojiblanco and has a contract with the Andalusian Club until June 2024. The 25-year-old footballer arrived at UD Almería U16s in the past 2013/14 season. After playing for the youth side, he moved up to UD Almería 'B' in the 2016/17 and in 2019/20 he made it to the senior team. In the 2020/21 campaign, he was shipped out to Rayo Vallecano, who achieved promotion to the top tier, the same goal that the left-back also celebrated with UD Almeria last season.
