‘I truly believe that the team are now stronger than before’

Mohamed El Assy weighs up the transfers made in the January transfer window.

Mohamed El Assy, the UD Almería’s CEO, weighed up the transfers made in the last January transfer window. In this regard, he has stated that ‘I truly believe that the team are stronger sportively than before. The new players need to play a few games so as to adapt themselves to their new team. We are pretty sure that Almeria are now stronger than they used to be in the beginning of January.’

On that note, he pointed out that ‘they will settle in shortly because all the new signings have experience for the Second Division’.

The chief executor officer has also insisted that the UD Almeria are a very ambitious club. He commented on the statements made by Jose María Gutiérrez’s at the post-match conference in Soria ‘This is the new Almeria: a club that win every single game. So, if we happen to lose one game, that would be a bad day for us’, he said.

Mohamed El Assy has been questioned about refereeing in LaLiga SmartBank: ‘It is part of football; Like anyone else, referees sometimes make wrong decisions and sometimes teams might benefit from those decisions. Like that, teams lose because of their performance, not because of the refs’ decisions.’
