The UD Almería captain sat down with the media who gathered at the Power Horse Stadium press room and spoke about the vital away match they have to play this Friday against Girona FC that will be key in the race to avoid the drop.

The Rojiblanco keeper stated: ‘We’re going with the mentality of getting the three points; the victory away from home is still our unfinished business this season but we’ll be heading to Girona with the clear objective of beating direct rivals.’ On this subject, Fernando added: ‘It’s crucial to score against this type of opponents because these points are worth double; those points that you earn are the ones that the other team drop.’

A victory would place UD Almeria in the middle of the table and Fernando is well aware of this fact: ‘If we win, we'll sit 11th and we’ll move a little further away from the bottom zone.’ He also stressed: ‘That gives you peace of mind.’
