El Bilal Touré to serve a one-match ban... in next Spanish Cup

The RFEF Competition Committee has considered the harshly red-carded striker's foul as minor after hearing the appeal filed by the Club

UD Almería striker El Bilal Touré, who was sent off following a harsh red card during the Copa del Rey tie against CD Arenteiro, will have to serve a one-match ban in the next Spanish Cup tournament since the Rojiblancos were knocked out by the Galicians.

The RFEF Competition Committee has considered the striker's foul as minor after hearing the appeal filed by the Club. The referee wrote in the game card that he sent off El Bilal 'for striking with his hand on the face of an opponent using excessive strength when not challenging for the ball.'

As a result of this unfair decision, UD Almería sent a letter and video evidence to explain that the match official could not have been able to see that as he was standing with his back to this action. In fact, the referee acted on behalf of one of his assistants, which is not mentioned on the game card.

The RFEF Competition Committee recognises that there is contact, but considers it as a minor foul imposing a one-match suspension that the Mali native player will have to serve in the next Spanish Cup.
