Chumi: ‘We’re excited, working very hard and we’re going to tough it up against FC Barcelona’
The former Culé player and now UD Almeria centre-back has assured at a pre-Barça presser: ‘We’re ready for the game, we can hurt them.’
UD Almería centre-back Chumi spoke to the journalists assembled at the Power Horse Stadium press room to talk about how they are going to face Sunday's game against current LaLiga Santander pacesetters FC Barcelona.
The Rojiblanco central defender has cleared up all doubts about how the team will go into this really tough match: ‘I see my team well, motivated and looking forward to the match. He also highlighted: ‘FC Barcelona are having a good season, but we're playing at home, we're excited, working very hard and we're going to tough it up against them.'
The 23-year-old Indalico took the first steps down the road at the Catalan club's Academy (Barça ‘B’, U19 and U18) and therefore facing FC Barcelona will be special for him: ‘It’ll be a very exciting game for me, I started my footballing career there and I have fond memories.’
The UD Almeria fans' support has been of the utmost important so far this season and therefore, Chumi asks them to stick to them through thick and thin and be that vital 12th Player: ‘We need our fans, we all have to push forward together,’ concluded the Laracha native after making it clear that they are fully prepared to face the encounter.
