Almería Women Under-16s renew sixteen players for the 2020/21 season

Pedro López will continue in the driving seat. The team do not know yet when the girls will start training on the pitch

Almeria Women Under-16s have renewed almost all the players for this season's project. Their head coach, Pedro López, who has led this team since its inception, will continue in the project.

The youth squad, who had a scintillating 2019/20 season, finishing first in the category, do not know yet when they will be able to start training again. For the time being, their backroom and management team are planning and restructuring the team so as to be well prepared when the time comes.

Pedro López stated that ‘we’re going to be much more demanding than last year’ and added that ‘we’re going to unify the playing style between the three Almería Women teams’.

Almeria Women Under-16s came first and then they were meant to play the Andalusian Championship, but it was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic. ‘We were dying to compete, but we’ll go all out so that this year everything is possible’, confessed the head coach, who added that his main objective this year is ‘to run training sessions by making sure the girls play well and when they reach 11-a-side football,  it does not mean much change.’
