Almeria show support for the Wolfram Syndrome Research Association

First team footballers, their head coach José María Gutiérrez, and women team players pose with t-shirts to raise awareness of this disease

UD Almeria and its Foundation have shown their support for the Spanish Association for Research and Aid for Wolfram Syndrome, which is a rare disease that is only a few days away from supplementing ongoing clinical trial, effectively, worldwide in Almeria.

Some representatives of this association visited the Juegos Mediterraneos Stadium to capture an image with the first team players, their head coach José María Gutiérrez, and women team players. All of them posed with t-shirts of the Spanish Association for Research and Aid to Wolfram Syndrome.

Dr. Gema Esteban Bueno, who was born in Almeria, is the coordinator of the Wolfram Syndrome Spanish multidisciplinary team and the President/doctor of the Spanish Association for research and aid to Wolfram Syndrome, which she founded in 1999 and since then she chairs.

Rare Disease Day (last day of February) will be the occasion for awarding Dr. Gema Esteban Bueno for her contributions to the field of rare diseases.
