Almería put a keen focus on tactical awareness to boost performance against Espanyol

The Rojiblancos trained both in the stadium and at the Anexo ground to avoid damaging the main pitch grass

The UD Almería first-team continue gearing up for the match against RCD Espanyol de Barcelona on Monday at the Juegos Mediterráneos Stadium. This game’s result and also the scores of those matches played by other fellow teams will tell the Rojiblancos which route to take in this final stretch of the championship. They could keep up the automatic promotion chase or take up the play-offs challenge. Either way, UD Almeria will go all out for a win next Monday.

The coaching team had planned to exercise behind closed doors at the ‘Mediterraneo’ this Friday morning. The pitch was quite damp and soft because of the heavy rainfall, so after doing some injury prevention exercises on artificial turf, the squad moved to the Anexo training base as a way to avoid damaging the main pitch lawn. That is when the footballers were trained on tactical awareness to read the game and act accordingly next Monday. It was a tactical training session including match scenarios. The players also worked on their fitness to finish off a long and intense day at the office.

This Saturday, back to activity at the Anexo before training behind doors at the stadium this Sunday so as to complete preparations for Espanyol-test. Guilherme Schettine, who was feeling pain in his hamstrings, was pictured on the pitch doing some exercises.
